Conv - P1.9i-8v-ls

The Murena deserves more power, - no doubt about that; and I am sure Matra had several plans for this, however the short life of the Murena is surely the reason Matra never got around to it. Some owners eradicate this by putting in new engines themselves - and I am one of them. My reason for replacing my 1.6 powerplant was however for the largest part to get fuelinjection and easier maintainability, as I use the car to and from work everyday. Winters in Denmark are humid and miserable, which doesn't go very well with Weber carburettors :-). (due to ice formation in the jets). The new engine gives me 136hp and 206Nm torque, making it an even match for a good 2.2S, as my car has shed about 50kg too. GPS measurements of in-gear acceleration shows almost identical results. My fuel-economy is fairly steady at 11-12km/l (having run some 100.000km with the 'new' engine)

This has nothing to do with the
engineconversion, but I just thought
it would be smart to save a picture
of the front without the fiberglass
inset - so the radiator etc can be seen.
